What to Expect

New to BarreAmped Nashville?

Here are some action steps to get started:

  1. Set up a free account in our MindBody scheduling system (specific to this studio).
  2. Select the class package or unlimited membership you’d like to get started with.
  3. Reserve your spot in the class(es) you’d like to attend.
  4. Please be sure to note the location of the class and arrive 10 minutes prior to class time to familiarize yourself with your instructor and your room.

What should I wear?

Form-fitting clothing (think yoga pants, tank tops, etc.) are ideal so your instructor can fully see your form and make appropriate corrections. But you’re welcome to wear whatever is most comfortable for you! Socks are not required, but if you prefer to wear them, please choose grippy-bottom socks so you won’t slide.

Do I have to have dance experience/coordination/etc?

Nope! No experience with any form of dance or group fitness is required. BarreAmped classes are taught for multi-level groups (unless labeled as ‘Advanced’ or ‘Fire’) and there are always modifications available.

Should I sign up online?

We strongly recommend that all clients sign up online prior to class. Drop-ins are welcome, but if class is full there may not be a space at the barre for you. If you’ve placed yourself on a wait list, please plan to check your email and/or your MindBody account to be notified if/when you’re moved to the class.

How early should I arrive?

We ask that new clients arrive at least 10 minutes prior to class time to fill out paperwork and get oriented. If you arrive after class has already started as a new client, we aren’t able to allow you in class. For following classes, plan to arrive at least 5 minutes before class starts. If you are late, make sure you perform 60 knee lifts before joining the class.

Can I take a class if I have an injury?

Depending on the nature of your injury (and if you’ve been cleared by a medical professional to exercise), then we can absolutely offer modifications to certain exercises for you. BarreAmped by nature is a very low impact exercise and our instructors are trained to work with individuals at their fitness level.

Can I take a class if I am pregnant?

With a doctor’s note, we are more than happy to offer certain modifications to keep you and your baby safe and healthy. Please pay special attention to the modifications your instructor gives you and only perform the exercises that are shown. BarreAmped is a wonderful way to stay fit and active throughout your pregnancy, but now is not the time to over-exert yourself or to over-work your abdominal muscles.

Do you offer childcare options?

Currently, we offer childcare at our West location only … and it’s FREE!

You may reserve a spot using your name under “Youth Services” with the corresponding class time on Monday, Wednesday, & Friday mornings.

You must sign up online (‘Youth Services’) at least one hour prior to the start of class.
